Class Descriptions

 First Aid

We offer a comprehensive basic and retraining course that is designed to provide the average student with the essential knowledge and skills to care for an ill or injured person until advanced medical help arrives. We offer a video based program, presented in a low-stress learning environment, by a qualified instructor. The program stresses and emphasizes hands on scenario based training and includes one rescuer. Your students will learn:

Setup

Control of Bleeding

Initial Assessment

Shock Management

The ABC’s of CPR

Warning Signs of Serious Illness

First Aid for Choking

Major Mechanisms of Injury

Initial training can be accomplished in a 7 hour program with 1 or 2 year renewals in 3-4 hours. Each student will receive a completion card at the end of the course.

Our certified instructors will train at your facility or you are welcome to use the training room in our office. The only items you need to provide is a TV/VCR, we will bring the rest. No minimum class size, but a maximum size of 12 per instructor. We also offer 2 instructor classes, which will accommodate up to 24 students.

Bloodborne Pathogen Training

Morton Safety’s bloodborne pathogen training program is designed to meet OSHA requirements as outlined in the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard. We offer a comprehensive program that encourages participation and discussion. Our training booklet is designed to incorporate your company’s Exposure Control Policy – so students learn your company’s way to comply with OSHA requirements. We require a copy of your Exposure Control Plan at least one week prior to your class to give us time to prepare. Remember, OSHA requires yearly training. Our program can be completed in less than 1 1/2 hours for up to 30 students at a time. Again, there is no minimum class size.

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Training

The Personal Protective Equipment standard requires that employees be trained in the proper care and maintenance of personal protective equipment.  Morton Safety uses a video-based program designed to incorporate class participation to ensure that each employee can demonstrate their competency in properly wearing and adjusting eye and face equipment they are required to wear.  Employees are required to be trained on their PPE before they start their job.  Retraining is required when changes in the workplace or type of PPE being used makes previous training obsolete.  This program can be completed in approximately 1 hour for up to 25 students at a time.  Again, there is no minimum class size.
